Plastics are buried in our lungs – heres what the Plastic Research Council didn’t what you to know

The Plastic Research Council discusses one report on microplastics found in our lungs and mentions another 5 in their references (but these are not discussed)

Studies finding microplastics in lung sample tests are linked to inflammation, even blood clotting. One 2026 study found microplastics in 77% of lungs from people who died in 2024, versus just 19% in 1991.

PRC’s verdict: there is no evidence of disease, so there is nothing of concern here.
