Note: Designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell back in 2009 and becoming one of their best-selling (and widely copied) designs, this 2022 version featuring recycled plastic was launched in 2022. This version of the Masters chair is made from ‘thermoplastic technopolymer.’ This mixed plastic cannot be recycled at end-of-life resulting in a low score for this attribute. The Masters RE is only available in one standard design which can be stacked 4 units high and is available in a choice of 6 colours. This version of the Maters chair achieved an average score of 11/20 in my comparison of sustainable chairs.
