The Banet Dining Chair, launched in 2025, features wool or vegan cotton batting, with plant-based, fire-resistant, comfort foam and PHA feet. The mycelium composite base is upholstered with natural textiles (wool or flax & Viscose composites), without using staples, plastics, or zippers. A lounge version is also available. Despite the use of mycelium, a renewable natural resource the Banet Chair failed to score impressively in by comparison of more sustainable designs. At 10 kg, the chair is heavy (implying more resources needed to manufacture the materials and the product. Plus increased transport and end of life impacts). The Banet cannot stack or be dismantled for shipping and must be taken apart at end of life, with the shell compostable. Despite this disappointing score the chair is commendable for being the first to be completely made from mycelium. Manufactured by the Dutch manufacturer Aifungh, the company also sells a range of lamps and side tables, all made from mycelium.
