Note: The Bau chair is shaped like an inverted F and features a shelf, designed to store books or bags. This 1969 design is also notable for its stacking solution; the chairs can nestle into each other or lie on their backs and stack. Italian lighting manufacturer Bilumen experimented with a new system for moulding ABS to produce the Bau chair. The mould developed created a seat just 3mm thick in the seat and back with sections up to 6mm thick where additional support was required. The Bau was produced, three years after it was originally designed in four colours (black, white, red and brown).
