The Gala Pure Eco Chair was designed inhouse by Andreu World and launched in 2025. Despite the name and despite being made from a recycled thermopolymer, this design performed poorly in my comparison of chairs made from recycled plastics or bioplastics. The material used contains only 61% post-industrial recycled waste the chair weighs 9.6 kg, making the chair over twice as heavy compared with the average (with resource and transport impacts more than doubling accordingly). Chairs can be stacked up to 6 units high and 7 colour choices are available (although only one version of the design is offered). The chair can be recycled at the end of its life, which the manufacturer assumes to be rather optimistic 50 years!
