Also known as the Z chair (after its shape) or variopur the Kangaroo chair was released in 1968, the same time as the Panton chair. Like the Panton the original version (released by Horn Collection) had a laquered surface. In the days of the cold war this was East Germany's response to developments in the west. The design was available with or without armrests. Moeckl trained at the Ulm School of Design. The design was re-released in 2020.
