Note: Designed by Formway in 2023 for Noho in New Zealand (which unfortunately appears to have gone out of business). The base of the Lightly Chair is made from 70% bio-based material made from the castor bean plant. The seat is made from 60% recycled polymer. Both components are glass-reinforced. The design only achieved an average score in my comparison of sustainable designs, which was disappointing, given that the chair stacks 15 units high vertically for shipping and is very light. However, the chair is made from two components, with two-thirds of the content being renewable plastics. As fibreglass has been used to reinforce the mixed polymers, the end-of-life score has been impacted. While the chair is available for less than $300, only one variant was available in a limited range of 5 colours.
