Designed by Eugeni Quitllet for the Italian manufacturer Pedrali. The design was originally created in 2018 with Pedrail issuing this version featuring recycled polypropene in 2021. This version of the chair is made with 50% post-consumer plastic waste and 50% industrial plastic waste (with unspecified quantity of fibreglass added) which the manufacturer claims can be recycled at the end of life. It seems unlikely that the chair will actually be recycled, as the presence of fibre glass means it cannot be recycled using standard mechanical recycling infrastructure. However, I have relied on manufacturers claims when comparing the chairs in my analysis. As a result, this design lost points due to the fact it is a monobloc meaning that only one version of the design is available and just six colour choices are offered. At nearly 4kg the chair is slightly heavier than the highest scoring designs using this analysis. However, the chair achieved an overall above average in my comparison of sustainable designs.
